What data is being collected?

During their work, the Project Teams are collecting the following:

  • The competencies, skills and attributes of Middle years’ students and the teaching and learning approaches that are of most importance to the Cerberus Cluster schools
  • Each team is compiling a Professional Portfolio to capture their journey which includes individual reflection and team records
  • Cerberus Schools are individually collecting Student Attitudinal data, attendance data and academic data
  • A Student Action team is compiling a video that identifies students’ attitudes to learning
  • Student, teacher and parent feedback on Cluster events such as Spelling competition, Transition forum for Parents, Conference, Year 5 and 8 Challenge Day

What has been achieved so far?

The Cluster recognises that the Cerberus schools are dynamic learning environments with many areas of expertise. The Project teams are enhancing this expertise while providing a positive culture of shared learning across the many schools. Achievements so far include:

  • The development of positive, supportive relationships across the Cerberus schools and the primary/ secondary sector has been a major impact.
  • Each member of a project team has taken action to support the project focus at their school level. This has resulted in opportunities to review, reflect and reinterpret existing knowledge and to provide improvement in both teacher and student learning.
  • We have data on teacher reflection on their learning, examples of best practice from teachers, student opinion survey on negotiated activities, student reflection on processes that allow greater student voice, independent learning behaviors as viewed by teachers and students and an audit of current links between sectors.
  • The Cluster has devised several processes to share the research results and the expertise developed by each team, and to support our learning community relationships. (These include Cerberus Expo 2003, Cerberus Conference 2004, a Professional Development Program of ongoing workshops and interest groups, and a Shadowing/ Mentoring program). Each will be evaluated.
