Facilities

Mentone Girls' Secondary College is located on the Corner of Balcombe and Charman Roads, Mentone. The College has developed a Master Plan to provide up to date and modern teaching facilities to support the learning of all students. Stage 1 was completed in 2002 and Stage 2 in 2005. This work included development of 5 new Science Labs, construction of a Visual Arts building, renovation of the College Performing Arts area to include a 192 seat theatre and appropriate Drama teaching spaces and renovation of general classrooms and staff working areas. Stage 2 of the College Master Plan included a new Canteen, Home Economics rooms, a VCE Centre, .improved space for student lockers and new student toilets.

Administration Upgrade

The College completed work on upgrading the administration area in 2004. This work included a new front entrance and reception area for visitors, refurbishment of the General Office and improved working areas for the teaching staff.

Leading Schools Fund Year 9 Centre

The College has been funded in the Victorian Government's Leading Schools fund project to construct a Year 9 learning centre. The learning centre will provided a modern learning environment, rich in Information and Communications Technology which will support the learning needs of Year 9 students. This project has gone to tender in February 2006, with construction to start by April 2006. The College is making a significant contribution to this project from its own resources.

Future Works

The College has set aside funds to further develop its music facilities and the Council has identified construction of better Music facilities as its next project.
The College would also like to improve its outdoor sporting facilities and is developing ways of doing this.
