Learning Technologies (LT) Plan - Vision

Mentone Girls’ Secondary College aims to engage all staff and students in quality teaching and learning practices. The College acknowledges the potential of Learning Technologies (LT)/ (ICT) to impact on learning outcomes for all students.

Mentone Girls’ Secondary College envisages a learning environment where Learning Technologies are regarded as an integral part of everyday work practices. Teachers are encouraged and supported in integrating and embedding Learning Technologies across the curriculum and the use of Learning Technologies encourages students to assume greater responsibility for their own learning.

Learning Technologies seeks to develop in teachers and students the skills to become confident, active, independent, life long learners and the abilities to create, communicate, collaborate, plan, analyse and problem solve.

LT Plan Strategies

The Learning Technologies (LT) plan is underpinned by the College Charter Priorities. In addressing the priorities, the LT strategies ensure that four main areas will be addressed. These four areas are interrelated and should work together. They provide the Teaching and Learning Strategies, Staff Development, Infrastructure and Policies to assist in implementing the College’s LT Vision.

The LT Committee oversees the implementation of the LT strategies and consists of nine key members of staff:

  • The Director of LT /Intranet Manager
  • Principal’s representative
  • Director of Curriculum
  • Staff Development Coordinator
  • Curriculum Resources Manager
  • Web Manager
  • Assessment and Reporting Manager
  • An elected Staff representative
  • An AEU representative

The committee is convened by the Director of LT and its makeup reflects the changing nature of LT across the curriculum.
