Year 12 Overview

Year 12 at Mentone girls’ Secondary College is both challenging and rigorous. It also provides the strong pastoral support for students at this level and facilitates a cooperative working environment. The students are treated respectfully and their individual talents are encouraged and recognised.

We celebrate our achievements in all aspects of school life and when the year closes we participate in positive activities to mark the end of the Girls’ secondary education. Our girls’ are well prepared for life beyond the college and much time is invested into accessing suitable pathways for students. We offer a wide range of VCE subjects and encourage life long learning. Our students gain positions in wide variety of further education courses.

The You Can Do It program, that includes “the keys to success”, is embedded into the pastoral program and underpins our quest for success. An orientation program that includes a camp at Monash University supports this program. Similarly events such as the Year 7 and 12 Fancy Dress Ball, strengthens relationships across age groups and allows each Year 12 girl to take a leadership role. The college Captains and VCE committee provides a strong leadership group and is directly responsible for the implementation of important school programs.
