Past Students’ AssociationThis section includes information about:
Purpose of the AssociationThe Mentone Girls’ Secondary College Past Students Association was established in June 1990. It operates through a small annually elected executive. It is an entirely voluntary organisation. An Assistant Principal of the College acts as College liaison officer and is a member of the executive. The Association runs two major events each year: an International Women’s Day Dinner in March featuring a past student as keynote speaker, and a Ten Year Reunion for Past students of the College. The Association also provides support for the key College events during the year: Open Night in May and Presentation Evening in November, including sponsorship of the Senior School Awards at Presentation Evening. Past students’ databaseThere are currently over 1000 past students registered on our past students’ database. Past students’ association newsletterThe Association publishes 3 newsletters a year, which are sent to all members, listed on the database. The main aim of the newsletter is to provide a point of contact for past students wishing to re-visit their school experiences. Newsletters are also available below. Association chat roomA chat room for Association members will soon be available via the college Intranet. This should assist ex-students to keep in touch with each other and support our event planning. Recent Association activitiesIn 2005 the Association executive focussed on assisting with the 50 Year Celebrations. Their next project is cataloguing and rehousing the archive collection.
