Our Year 7 students come to us from over 40 different primary schools.
The Department of Education's placement policy provides guidance on managing and accepting enrolments. MGSC has been able to accept enrolments from beyond its neighbourhood zone in recent years. Find my School assists with identifying if you live in zone.
Schools must offer enrolment to all students who live within their zone. Schools should also offer enrolment to students who live outside their zone, if there are available places.
If a school cannot enrol all students who live outside their zone, applications are prioritised in the following order:
1. students with a sibling at the same permanent address who is attending the school at the same time
2. all other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.
Students who live outside the school zone may also be considered for enrolment on compassionate grounds
in exceptional circumstances.
